The Tulane Motor Pool fleet can only be used by approved Tulane undergraduate student organizations during the fall and spring academic semesters.
Motor Pool Driver Training
The Tulane University Motor Pool is available to Tulane undergraduate student organizations. Before motor pool vehicles can be reserved by a student driver, students must first go through a three-step process to become an approved Motor Pool driver:
- Student driver applicants must complete the online Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) request, available here in WaveSync. Please allow a minimum of one week for this report to be processed. Any questions about the MVR can be directed to the Tulane Office of Insurance and Risk Management (OIRM) at (504) 314-2736.
- The student driver applicant must take an online defensive driving test offered by United Educators. Once OIRM has received the completed MVR consent form, the applicant will receive an email from OIRM with instructions on how to register for the online defensive driving test. When completed, email your completion certificate to oirm@tulane.edu.
- The student driver applicant is required to take motor pool classroom training conducted by Tulane Shuttles & Transportation. This training will be comprised of both classroom and vehicle training. This training can be completed while the MVR and United Educators online test are in progress. To note, a vehicle cannot be reserved until ALL THREE STEPS outlined above are successfully completed.
